One of the things the doctor told me to do to help my heart was swim. They also told me to eat a lot of salt and drink water and then more water. The doctor wanted me to start doing weight training on my legs. He said that would help the blood not pull to my legs and that if my muscles were tight they would pump the blood back to my heart and then to my brain. So, last night my husband and I started our first work out. I had to take it very slow because my resting heart rate is already really high even with me taking medicine. So, I started with the bike and only did one mile. Then I did 3 leg machines trying to build more muscle in my legs. After we were finished we then went out to the pool with our two children and swam. The doctor said swimming was good for me since the water is surrounding my body it helps the blood to not go straight to my legs.

On my way to stengthen my heart!
Today we also spent most of the morning at the pool. I did my water exercises and the kids played. It is so relaxing to go to the pool. I have made it through the first two days of work out and my heart is doing good. It is going to take me awhile to build my hearts strength back up, but I am so determined to keep on working on it!!

Swimming is such a fun way to work out. And you've got Dr's orders! Glad he was able to give you something you could do to strengthen your heart!
Way to go on your first two days!! At least you know that there is something you can DO to help your heart. :) I hate the kind of problems where there is nothing you can DO about them...
How cute!!! I love those photos!
If you ever want some swim buddies let me know :)
I'm so glad to hear you're doing well with your heart condition. I hope you're able to get it where it needs to be or even stronger soon. I'll certainly be praying for ya!
a doctor couldn't have a better patient! you really take care of yourself and you have faith. people who pray and trust in God have better healing capabilities than the average person. will be thinking of you!
When you say you are going to do something in your life...you rarely, if ever, fail. At this rate, your heart will soon be as strong as your spirit. Love you so very much.
Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for sharing your condition with us... you're an inspiration. I used to run marathons etc, but my knees 'creak' now, so though I no longer run, my husband and I take a good, brisk walk, almost daily, and I do some exercises - but I make it fit into my lifestyle too. We live on a lake, so fortunately we can swim in the summer/skate in winter.
Thanks for visiting me and your lovely comments!
I look forward to visiting you again. Would you please email me when you update so I don't miss it? you can email me at lalalime{at}hotmail{dot}com
